Re: Time to start wiring the car!

Looping is ok, I have done that on another circuit (starter push button). I've updated my wiring diagram to match those comments, will try and upload later this week. Almost finished the decorating now so should be able to get back on the car soon, at long last.... Right, as for ignition etc. I basi...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

I've made a wiring diagram in excel (sorry, don't have anything else) - I can't seem to get this into a format that I can upload (I can email). But based on your comments, my fuel relays are wrong...and i think i get it now For my fuel pumps, I have two relays with built in 30amp fuses. So i feed ea...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

Hi Dave/Stevie, thanks for the replies and apologies for the shitty pics, i will try to get better ones. Definitely I want to start at the battery and then move forwards, so I've kinda posted pics in the wrong order, sorry. The rad fans aren't run directly off the ecu, they are triggered by the ecu ...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

Ok so this is the main wiring loom for the battery feed/breakers etc, apologies for how crappy the diagram is. The scribbled out bit in the middle is supposed to be the starter button part, which I drew out separately above. I know it's not great. I have another drawing somewhere of the actual fuse ...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

Ok let me try this IMGBB. Here is a pic of my boot build wiring, for the two fuel pumps, twin fans, brake lights and warning light. Power to the fuel pumps sub-loom comes directly off the 150amp breaker (so not via a fuse board) The two blue lines are ECU triggers (fan and fuel) green line is a manu...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

Dave, there's no power getting to the fuse board because the short is between the battery and the fuse board by the looks of it. Sorry, just up the wall here at the moment and haven't had time to even look yet.

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

OK I will get the drawings out tonight and start to go through them, then post one at a time.

Stevie I can't power anything up at the moment because the short appears to be between the battery and fuse/relay board.

You'll see what i mean when i get pics etc.

Cheers!

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

The wire from the battery to the breaker via the FIA kill switch is absolutely massive, like Gauge 1 or something. My money is on the kill switch being faulty, but as I said I need to find time to actually test it. In the meantime I can post pics of my sublooms if anyone is interested / can check th...

Re: Time to start wiring the car!

I drew individual diagrams of each of the circuits yes. Still have them, although never been checked by anyone else. I have gone through them but will do so again at some point, when I can. It got warm gradually over a minute or two, not bad sparks.. I didn't have the grounding resistor connected th...
