It is cross drilled into the crank big end caps, the engine number is 60D11306A

That is a Thor 4.6 High Compession engine.

4.6 will be cast into the front crankshaft counterweight.

Thanks guys
Thats a real result as only paid 100$ kiwi for it and looks in great order , no wear in the bores ,
Do you reckon it will take a super charger from a Jag XK8 without too much surgery ?

Is it new or 2nd hand? Remember those engines are notorious for cracking behind a liner.

Chris.

At $100 it's a gift. You'd probably pay more just for a set of pistons.
As for the blower, I'd think you would need a set of low compression pistons or a few head gaskets stacked to drop the CR down a tad.

You've not got much to lose, stick it in and play with it. If I had that bottom end lying around it would be getting heads and 2 turbos right about now with the only debate being my P38 or P6 as destination.
Cheers,
John

I have 4 new sets of head gaskets to $50 that was 4 x metal gasket and 4 x composite gaskets , I guess depends on how much boost i let rip through , apparently can change with pulley size or blow off valve , I was only going to use 3.5 block but this thing looks like its so much stronger with the cross bolted main

The later blocks are much stronger than the 3,5 blocks, beyond a doubt.
