Which heads

Post by gd302 »

With a budget of £1500 which route would you take with the heads?
Its £750 to get some peter burgess econotune heads, a well respected guy.
Or around £1500 for some stage 3 bigger valves from V8D.
Car is mainly fast road use,4.0 standard Tvr heads which are an unknown quantity.
Are they really worth double the money?

Well I have tried Burgess econotune heads, and stage 3 with bigger valves but self ported. Also merlin heads and now TA TRS heads. All on various engine sizes from 4.0L to 5.0L
I would say go with the stage 3 with bigger valves from personal experience.

I agree go stage 3 V8D if you can afford them. TA heads are expensive and I've heard mixed reports about Merlins. 300 heads are good but hard to find and will need refurbishing.

Yes, i could stretch to these but the amount of metal removed from the ports scares me.
