clutch alinement tool.

Post by mike-b »

I am in the middle of changing my gearbox to the T5 (251), the next job is to fit the clutch and centre the 10-spline plate.
What I am looking for here is the availability of one of those plastic replica of the `box input shaft to centre the clutch plate, I know they are available in the states by the thousand but here in the UK?
I used one of these gadgets on a 184 T5 and the box was a very easy fit.

Anyone know where to obtain one in the UK?

Thanks, Mike

They should be easily available, but they are easy to make.
Find a dowel that fits snugly in the spigot and a roll of tape. Roll the tape around the dowel so it aligns with the clutch plate until it fits snugly in the clutch plate and Bob's your Uncle.
Cheers,
John
