T5 (251) to RV8

Post by mike-b »

I have a T5 (251) with a 10-spline 1 & 1/16 shaft. The engine is a RV8 3.9 built for normal street use - so its no big deal!

I prefer the throw out bearing system from Paul at V8 tuner.

It looks like I need a 10-inch clutch just to get the 10-spline plate.

Question 1 ... Whats wrong here - there must be something.?

Question 2 -- Where can I obtain the street use clutch of 10-inch & plate?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. .... Mike

Your box is the American version meant for the big engines (chevy I think used that spline) hence the big clutch. If you had the Multi spline metric one you would have more choice. Does Paul not do a clutch or real steel.

Any clutch specialist will be able to make you a friction disc whatever shape/size/colour/spline you want etc.

in the UK, Helix is probably a good shout as they've a huge range.

Gentlemen, Thank you for your replies.

Mark, Yes I know its the Chevy or `tang one, exactly what I wanted. As a matter of fact Paul at V8 tuner mailed me after I posted to inform me he had located a plate. He`s now on my christmas list - bless him.

Stevie, Thanks - a good point.

Regards, mike
