T5 reverse

Post by Seight-V8 »

hello all,

silly question time....

Where is reverse on the cosworth t5 gearbox?

Does the lever need lifting or pushing down to get it to engage?

can find gears 1-5...but having a problem with reverse.

cheers

scott

It's back from 5th gear. There is no gate on mine, in otherwords I don't have to lift or push down on the lever.

cheers guys, just wanted to make sure.

it does clunk in to something when I move it where reverse should be, just reverse selection doesn't feel as positive as all the other gears.

Just wondering if I have a problem or not with it.....and whether I might need to recon it before fitting it for real.

Scott.

I am still debating whether or not to get my T5 rebuilt.

When I've removed the front nose, the bearing looks as its done normal mileage for the age of the box.

Can anyone recommend where to get a cosworth T5 rebuilt, just looking for new bearings and seals.

cheers

scott
