My Humber Hawk

Post by Crockpot »

This is my Rover 3.5 powered Humber Hawk. I've owned it for a few months now and am looking forward to some summer sun so I can do a few jobs and mods on it.

Hope it fits in here.

Lovely.

Didn't the Hawk body get used as a test mule for another famous UK V8 at the time? Daimler?

They built 6 (if I remember correctly) Super Snipe (same bodyshell) prototypes powered by Chrysler 318cu.in. motors. They never got put into production. I believe that 5 survived.

Ah. So right about the idea but not detail. :D

I've always liked the look of those. So much more elegant than the big BMC barges.
