Hi Mike,

Not checked in for a while, not meaning to scramble your thoughts any further but!
Have you not thought that more power on the line, full throttle of course :) might really be the answer. A slingshot needs wheelspeed at the hit, if not it tends to let the pinion climb the ring gear and this is what causes the wheelstands. I would be looking to launch from idle, nice crisp throttle response setting on the barrel to allow this, then just be ready, I suspect it may just get on the tyre and go forwards instead of lifting the wheels so high.

More food for thought!!!!

Alan

Hi
after an on going battle with ignition units I had two blistering runs yesterday, 8.8 @147.8 backed up with a 8.84. . . . thing is with the second run it was in the dark and my goggles were steaming up, it all was getting a bit hectic so I backed out at about 1000 feet I am now wondering what it would have done if I had kept the throttle down
Big thanks to the crew, to Kev for all the advice on the new ignition map to Perry as always for all the support, you have to see the wheelie he pulled on the launch he did on my first 8.8 it is stunning!
I have enough launch retard now to keep the front wheels down and stop it "climbing the crown wheel". probably a little more than it needs for that so I may put back in 2 degrees and see what happens and ramp it out in a second rather a second and a quarter and I think I will add another degree or two of advance in the map after 4k revs. Let the tuning begin!
best regards
Mike

Hi
Tom I think there are a few videos about, face book and you tube I suspect and I think Perry put a couple up because it featured his huge wheelie. . . Back out today and an 8.76 @149. It still needs working on as I think there is more to come from getting the ignition mapped better, better mixture and more throttle opening, though I think I am getting there.
best regards
