You've checked the obvious things like the air filter?

Should be 1-2% CO.

It has a K&N cylinder filter which was cleaned and re-oiled less than 500 miles ago.
What else can I check ?

Is there not an adjustment for CO? I forget.

There should be a CO/mixture screw on the air mass meter if its a pre-cat engine :D I am assuming its a pre-cat EFI RV8

It's a '91 3.9 RV8 Range rover classic. It has no cats but has a full stainless exhaust system. I'm assuming the cats haven't been removed with the exhaust change.

There may be some way of adjusting mixture, all the CO is saying is that it is a little richer than maybe liked for MOT purposes.
But still perfectly legal and not a problem

That being the case it as a small recessed screw/potentiometer on the Air Flow Meter in a recess on the exit side, you can see its housing right of this pic :D Image
