Well, with MegaSquirt, you can fairly easily compensate for very hot intake air by looking at the AFR after a hot re-start and adjusting the air temperature compensation curve. A bit fiddly since you have to be quick, but at least now hot re-starting is reliable. It was bit of a gamble with the original flapper system.
