hello, ive got a eddlebrock performer manifold, which has the bypass on it. I am trying to find a stat housing which comes straight out (that includes the bypass). im struggling to get the existing expansion tank high enough so am getting an air lock...

any pointers where to find one?

thanks
chris

You could put an air bleed in the top tube.

I have worked on a few cars where the Eddy manifold has caused overheating issues, drilling two 7mm holes though the thermostat housing inside the manifold into each coolant channel fixes the issue, I believe that JRV8 does this now as standard on the manifolds he sells.

Towards the bottom of this page..

My mate did his holes 4mm, I did mine at 7mm which I think is better!

Apparently some Rover manifolds (maybe the standard ones?) have similar holes.

maybe this one could be modified for your needs.

I bought one from a different v8 engine that was straight and welded the holes up and re-drilled them for the rover....although mine does not use the bypass, as it goes under the manifold for this.
