Hi all,
I hope this is the correct area. Presently trying to attach my clutch to the fly wheel but have a question about the 2 shims/spacers that came off the auto. It's a Rover 3.5 SD1 that I'm converting to a manual. The question is do I actually need these shims/spacers for the manual box? They are only present in the auto box (see the Rimmers) https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID800028 item 12 and 10.
All the best,
Peter

No. The flywheel goes straight onto the end of the crankshaft.

Don't forget there may not be a spigot bush in the end of the crankshaft if the engine was used in an auto before, so you'll have to add one.

Chris.

Thanks Chris,
Yes - I have a new bush. Do you know if you could test the engine with the clutch attached but not gearbox? or would the plate cause too many issues?
Thanks
Peter

Definitely. I've run many an engine without a gearbox. Some with the clutch assembly fitted, and some with just the flywheel.

No issues there.

Chris.
