LT77 into an MGB

I have been asked by a nice Irish guy who lives in Germany to help him with his V8 MGB.
He has a Rover Vitesse V8 with an LT77 box but no extension remote for the gearstick so has bought 1 from me.
He believes the standard SD1 extension will be a couple inches too long and wants to know if there is someone back in blighty that can shorten the extension before posting it to him. He is happy to pay for the service.
So can we help this guy out chaps?
