Well my cars been back on the road for a week now although I couldn't get an MOT test done until Friday. For some strange reason I had 45 miles on the trip meter. Anyway I went for a drive today (about thirty miles) & all seems ok. The newly rebuilt gearbox was tight at first but seems to be settling in. I just have to be patient running it in again, something I've never enjoyed doing. I'm hoping this is the last bit of bad luck for this year but if not as I always say, S*** happens deal with it!

Regards Ged.

Well I've been busy over the last month or so.

The pinion oil seal decided to leak & after spotting grease behind the extension housing mud shield I flipped the seal off the bearing to find the oil had washed all the grease out. So new seal & bearing. I dropped the back axle so I could give everything the once over.

Ready to go back in.

Also decided to refurbish the gearbox extension housing. I stripped it & replaced the split bushes on the shaft then made a set of poly bushes.
A huge improvement in shifting! Much more precise.

Image

Next on the list was the sump was leaking due to grounding it after reversing off the MOT ramps. So new gasket & repaint.

Then a cam change.

All back together now & nice to drive.

Looks great Ged, which cam did you change over to? Ever had it on a dyno?

Ged,

Looks great, would love to know more about the rocker gear, construction, materials, bearings used, any chance of making another set :)

I would really like to get some insight, might even consider making some ourselves.

Keep up the good work

Alan
