Can somebody confirm the torque setting for my ARPs, [Rover]

Head studs, 65ftlbs, using the correct molly grease,

Rod bolts. 40ftlbs, again using the correct grease,

Mains studs, 90ftlbs greased again.

The only reason I ask is I have no figures for these fixings, apart from a grubby bit of paper with these figures scribbled on it

If its any help, the sheet with my main studs says 7/16 arp 190,000 series torque to 70 ft lbs with molly lubricant and 85 without.

I wouldn't go 90 on the mains studs into a rover block. As far as I am aware, the figures quoted by ARP assume fixing in a cast iron block. I use 80 mains, 40 big-ends and 65 to 70 heads, all lbft.

Badgers figures seem to match the ones I have too Ian.

Mains are up at 90
but the most annoying thing, I dropped a screwdriver onto the crank, and took a gouge out of a journalI wonder how long before the crank breaks

i can't find my rod settings, but

on ARP paperwork:
mains screw studs hand tight into block and torque to 90ft lbs (same as what mine are done to)
head studs 70 ft lbs but due to aluminium expansion torque to 65 ft lbs (same as what mine are done to)
both are with arp moly assembly lube,

is the 40 ft lbs correct for rod bolts? if so i will make a note for my records for when i do mine,

I have none of the ARP lube stuff- would a drop of assembly lube do instead or should I torque dry or what? Its the head studs I'm on now!

Also- what is the correct procedure to put the studs in? They run out of thread before they bottom out so just wind them in and finish with a hex key by hand?

Arent the main studs 1/2" ?? They will take 90lbft no problem.

In fact, I wound my 1/2" head studs and mains to around 110-120 lbft I think ?

7/16" would be circa 70-75lbft

Generally they simply go by fastener size.

Any advice about the lube?!! Or how tight the studs should be? Would quite like to get the heads torqued up tonight :)

Use ARP Lube. ( basically Moly lube )

Studs should be finger tight, although I do tend to give them a little nip myself.

Is that the same as cam lube?
