Evening All,
Just taken delivery of my New RST twin plate clutch,
there's an adaptor ring that bolts to the fly wheel, that carries the first clutch plate, then the second plate and cover bolt to this,
Will I need to use locating dowels for the adapter ring???
Instructions are a little vague in the box lol,
I need to get the flywheel drilled to take the new adapter ring/clutch so wondered if it needs drilling to take dowels too?
And it looks like the original cover bolts are used to hold the adapter ring to the flywheel,

I did a quick rummage on the net and found this.....
4.6L and 5.4L Ford Modular engines require the installation of the supplied dowel pins (3) into the
factory flywheel. GM LS engines require the installation of 2 of the supplied dowel pins into the
factory flywheel.

Yeah that paperwork is in the box
But no dowel pins which made me wonder as its to go onto the rover flywheel what you do.

Don't think its needed.

As I remember, I had to remove my dowel pins when converting to the McLeod 10½" Street/Strip kit ( now sold as HD kit ). Never replaced those dowels.

Hi JP.
Did you use the o/e size cover plate bolts?

I used the ones RealSteel suplied. BY1500, bolt kit for McLeod pressure plate.

ahh ok,
I may go that route too then,
otherwise I'm going to have to use the o/e bolts and locator dowels.
I see the 3/8 bolts have a locating shoulder to do away with the locating dowels

Right,
I'm getting nowhere fast,
Spoke to RS today and the guy I spoke to didn't have a clue what bolts are needed to hold the adapter ring to the flywheel.
He said it may end up being a special order item,
and will ring me back, with a price :?:
