I have bought a Vitesse engine and gearbox to convert my mgb. I have removed the lt77gearbox and checked the identification number which is a 17a model. This should be for a 2.3 to 2.6 sd1. Would this be OK to use in the conversion or is it too weak to take the 3.5 engine? Any help would be appreciated.

It will be fine - especially having an easier time in a much lighter car.
